SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) Services

Many organisations could benefit greatly from search engine optimisation (SEO). This is not a hard sell; we believe that once we explain the process and you see and read the results that are capable, we shouldn’t need one.

What is SEO?

SEO is a process of adapting and moderating a website in order for it to be indexed and ranked in a search engine's organic pages. By implementing an SEO strategy on a website, there is an opportunity to compete for a high placement within the search engine results pages (SERPs) by generating traffic from keywords relevant to your site. Optimising a site is a proven way of reaching a business’s target audience who are actively searching for a product or service.

Search engines play a leading role in today’s environment. 80% of web users visit a search engine every day. Companies like Google, MSN and Yahoo dominate this industry and search is responsible for 49% of online purchases.

The impact SEO can have on a website is significantly valuable in terms of increasing site visibility and gaining traffic. It remains the only environment where smaller companies can compete with more established organisations for placement in the SERPs without the hindrance of money.

An optimised site will start to see results, initially with an increase in the amount of traffic driven to the site, then eventually followed by a greater number of conversions and a high return on investment (ROI).

How we do SEO

At Base One Search we believe search engine optimisation efforts should be divided into three key areas.

Technical Optimisation - this counts for about 15% of the optimisation process, but is a crucial factor in determining your search engine visibility. If your website is not being indexed properly by the search engines, you are going to struggle to rank well in the SERPs. Factors such as; sitemaps, internal linking, 301 redirects, error pages etc are evaluated and dealt with. In some cases we have found the Technical Optimisation process alone has significantly increased traffic to a website.

On Page Optimisation - this parts counts for 45% of the optimisation process. And is in our opinion where most websites gets it wrong. It's logical really, the keyword/phrase you want to rank for needs to be prominent on your website. We optimise all the on page content on your website including; title attributes, headings, main content, internal links as well as URLs, BUT the core and the big difference with Base One Search is that we put BIG efforts into meticulously researching and mapping information before we start on page optimisation. Building an indepth search strategy, outlining all research and documenting the results we can and will achieve.

Off Page Optimisation - this area of SEO is probably the most mysterious and is often viewed as a black art. Off page optimisation usually referrs to the incoming links you have to your website. This is a big part of the search engine algorithm, as a link to your website works as a vote. Although it's not necessarily about quantity of links but usually also quality of links. There is also relevancy to keep in mind, the more relevant the linking website has to your content the better the "vote" is according to the search engines.
